SOT Therapy Q-REstrain

Q-REstrain™ Therapy

Personalized Molecular Therapy for Complex Chronic Infections

At Haus of Health, we specialize in caring for patients with complex chronic illnesses who often require a highly individualized approach to treatment.

Q-REstrain™, formerly known as Supportive Oligonucleotide Technique (SOT), is a personalized oligonucleotide-based therapy available to appropriately selected patients under the direction of Dr. Sarah Teodorski, NMD.

Q-REstrain is designed around a specific molecular target associated with an identified microorganism. Rather than using the same intervention for every patient, the process involves specialty laboratory testing and development of an individualized oligonucleotide preparation intended to interact with a selected genetic target.

At Haus of Health, Q-REstrain is never approached as a stand-alone answer to chronic illness. It may be considered as one component of a broader physician-directed treatment plan based on the patient’s history, laboratory findings, symptoms, previous treatments, and overall health.

What Is Q-REstrain?

Q-REstrain is the updated name for a therapy many patients know as SOT, or Supportive Oligonucleotide Technique.

Oligonucleotides are short sequences of DNA or RNA that can be engineered to recognize specific nucleic-acid sequences.

The concept behind Q-REstrain is to create an individualized oligonucleotide directed toward a selected molecular sequence associated with a microorganism identified during the patient’s evaluation.

Because the therapy is created for a specific molecular target, Q-REstrain is fundamentally different from conventional broad-spectrum antimicrobial treatment.

It is important, however, to distinguish the proposed molecular mechanism from established clinical outcomes. Q-REstrain is an emerging integrative therapy, and high-quality clinical evidence establishing its safety and effectiveness for chronic EBV, Lyme disease, or other persistent infections remains limited.

Dr. Teodorski discusses these limitations, potential risks, alternatives, and the individualized rationale for treatment before therapy is pursued.

How Is Q-REstrain Designed?

The Q-REstrain process begins with a comprehensive clinical evaluation and appropriate laboratory testing.

When Dr. Teodorski determines that Q-REstrain may be reasonable to consider, a patient sample is obtained and processed through the specialty laboratory involved in producing the therapy.

The process generally involves:

1. Comprehensive Consultation

Dr. Teodorski reviews your medical history, symptoms, previous diagnoses, prior treatments, medications, supplements, and available laboratory results.

2. Diagnostic Evaluation

Additional testing may be recommended to better understand your clinical picture and determine whether an appropriate molecular target has been identified.

3. Specialty Laboratory Processing

The appropriate patient specimen is collected and submitted to the specialty laboratory according to its required protocol.

4. Target Selection

Laboratory information is used in the process of identifying the molecular sequence toward which the individualized oligonucleotide preparation will be designed.

5. Individualized Preparation

A Q-REstrain preparation is manufactured specifically for the selected target.

6. Physician-Directed Administration

Once the individualized preparation is received by Haus of Health, treatment is administered according to the physician-directed protocol.

7. Follow-Up

Dr. Teodorski follows the patient’s clinical response and determines whether additional laboratory evaluation, supportive treatment, or changes to the overall treatment plan are appropriate.

The Science of Oligonucleotides

Every organism depends on genetic information encoded within DNA or RNA.

During normal biological processes, genetic information is used to produce proteins that cells and microorganisms require for their function and replication.

Modern molecular medicine has developed several ways of using short nucleic-acid sequences to influence these processes. Antisense oligonucleotides and RNA-based therapeutics, for example, are established areas of biomedical research, and some oligonucleotide drugs have received regulatory approval for specific diseases.

Q-REstrain applies an oligonucleotide-based concept to individualized infectious-disease targets.

That distinction is important.

The fact that oligonucleotide technology is scientifically established does not mean every oligonucleotide application has been clinically proven. Q-REstrain itself should therefore be evaluated according to the evidence available for the specific therapy and clinical indication being considered.

At Haus of Health, we believe patients deserve transparency about both the science behind emerging therapies and the limitations of the available evidence.

Conditions for Which Q-REstrain May Be Discussed

Depending on the patient’s clinical presentation and laboratory findings, Q-REstrain may be discussed within individualized care involving certain chronic or persistent infectious concerns.

These may include selected cases involving:

  • Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)
  • Lyme disease / Borrelia
  • Certain tick-borne co-infections
  • Other viral or microbial targets for which an appropriate Q-REstrain preparation is available

Eligibility is determined individually.

A positive laboratory result alone does not necessarily establish that an organism is responsible for a patient’s symptoms or that Q-REstrain is appropriate.

Q-REstrain and Chronic Epstein-Barr Virus

EBV is one of the most common viruses in humans. After initial infection, the virus establishes lifelong latency within the body.

Because antibodies to EBV remain detectable in most adults, interpreting EBV testing requires considerably more nuance than simply identifying a positive antibody result.

For patients experiencing persistent fatigue, brain fog, swollen lymph nodes, reduced exercise tolerance, or other chronic symptoms, Dr. Teodorski first evaluates the broader clinical picture.

This may include:

  • EBV antibody patterns
  • Complete blood count
  • Metabolic and liver markers
  • Nutritional status
  • Inflammatory markers when appropriate
  • Hormonal and thyroid health
  • Immune function
  • Other infections
  • Environmental exposures
  • Sleep
  • Nutrition
  • Medications
  • Other potential explanations for symptoms

When the clinical picture and appropriate testing support further investigation, Q-REstrain may be discussed as an investigational or emerging integrative option within a larger treatment strategy.

It should not be interpreted as an established cure for EBV.

Q-REstrain and Lyme Disease

Patients with persistent symptoms attributed to Lyme disease frequently have complex clinical histories.

Before recommending advanced therapy, Dr. Teodorski evaluates the patient’s history, previous testing, treatment history, symptoms, and potential alternative or coexisting diagnoses.

When appropriate laboratory evidence and the overall clinical picture support consideration of a targeted approach, Q-REstrain may be discussed as part of the patient’s individualized treatment plan.

Q-REstrain is not a substitute for established diagnostic evaluation or standard antimicrobial treatment when those treatments are medically indicated.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Q-REstrain the same as SOT?

Q-REstrain is the name currently used for the therapy that many patients and clinicians have historically referred to as Supportive Oligonucleotide Technique or SOT.

Is Q-REstrain personalized?

Yes. The process involves development of an oligonucleotide preparation directed toward a selected molecular target associated with the patient’s clinical and laboratory evaluation.

Is Q-REstrain an antibiotic?

No. Q-REstrain is not a conventional antibiotic or antiviral medication. It is an oligonucleotide-based therapy with a different proposed molecular mechanism.

Is Q-REstrain FDA-approved to treat EBV or Lyme disease?

Q-REstrain should not be represented as an FDA-approved treatment for EBV, Lyme disease, or other chronic infections. Patients should discuss the regulatory status, evidence, potential benefits, risks, uncertainties, and established treatment alternatives with their physician before proceeding.

Does Q-REstrain cure EBV?

No therapy should be represented as eradicating latent EBV from the body. EBV establishes lifelong latency after infection. Q-REstrain is an emerging therapy considered by some integrative clinicians for selected patients, but clinical evidence establishing it as a cure for EBV is lacking.

Will I need additional treatment?

Possibly. Complex chronic illness can involve multiple contributing factors. Dr. Teodorski develops an individualized treatment plan and may recommend additional medical, nutritional, lifestyle, or integrative therapies based on your evaluation.

How do I know whether I am a candidate?

The first step is a consultation with Dr. Teodorski. She will review your symptoms, medical history, previous treatment, and laboratory findings and discuss whether Q-REstrain is reasonable to consider in your particular case.

Dr. Teodorski’s Approach to Precision Medicine

At Haus of Health, advanced technology never replaces good medicine.

Before recommending Q-REstrain, Dr. Sarah Teodorski works to understand the complete clinical picture—what you’re experiencing, what your laboratory results actually mean, what treatments you’ve already tried, and what other factors may be affecting your health.

For appropriate patients, Q-REstrain may provide another option to discuss within a comprehensive, personalized treatment strategy.

Most importantly, you will be given the information necessary to understand the proposed therapy, the current evidence and its limitations, potential risks, available alternatives, and what you can realistically expect from treatment.
